@andrew Back in the '90s, I was part of a grassroots facilitators collective. We had a meeting in Libkovice, a village completely destroyed for a brown coal mine. Very weird to walk around streets: no houses, but apple and pear trees in gardens still with their fruits…

We stayed with the former mayor, Stanislav Břicháček, in the only house left. We made him an honorary member.

Libkovice existed for 812 years. Amsterdam celebrates its 750th anniversary next year…
